When it comes to weddings, having things come together according to plan is rarely the result of coincidence, but months and years of hard work by lots of people. Scheduling a wedding for peak foliage season and then getting it, along with streaming sunshine - well, that’s just a lovely coincidental icing on the cake (or doughnuts, in Emily and Will’s case). I realized how easy it was to get jaded about fall - in Boston it’s mostly ornamental but beautiful leaves, and a nice temperature change. Driving up to Tamworth for this wedding, though, was a re-introduction to real fall - and it just got lovelier once I started the day with Emily and Will and their plans.

One thing we talked the most about was their dog, Toby, and I may have spent as much time with him on their wedding day as I did Steph and Ryan. That’s just an explanation, in case you have a dog and I end up talking about and then spending more time with your dog(s) than you. Any “meeting” with me will inevitably devolve into a back and forth of our dog pictures, or should you currently be dog-less, of mine. So when Toby went out for a walk on the breakwater at Spring Point during Steph and Ryan’s reception, we took it as our cue to join him for some portraits.
